75 Percent of Citizens Targeted to Use Vote Right

Jakarta Commission of General Election (KPU) targeted 75 percent citizens to use their vote right in legislative election (Pileg), on Wednesday (4/9). The number is raised compared with citizens participation in Governor election last 2012, that only 64 percent.

People would use rational consideration to vote, so the unsatisfied feeling of political party, their deputy, and state official could also determine their attitude of vote

Head of Jakarta Commission of General Election, Sumarmo said that the target is rational and realistic. He would not targeting until 100 percent, because it could not be realized. Remembering the citizens are very critical and smart to choose their option.

"People would use rational consideration to vote, so the unsatisfied feeling of political party, their deputy, and state official could also determine their attitude of vote and there are many people like that," Sumarno said, Tuesday (4/8).

Election Day, Public Services still Open

Sumarno said, there are many aspects that give influence of citizens political attitude. Moreover, many people understand politic with available sophisticated technology. Because of that, the most realistic voters are 75 percent, not 85, 90, even 100 percent.

Sumarno added, socialization like forming democracy volunteer, posters, cooperation with group of disability, nursing houses, and socialization in campuses, schools before voting day had been done in order to push abstainers (golput). "Many thing has done, but I'm not close my eyes if Jakarta has many citizens. Not everyone could be reached," he said.

However, the citizen must be creative to get related information of legislative election. Sumarno added, in implementing the election, he did not have budget from city government. But, he praised to God of did not have budget from city government. Because, there is no responsibility for that.

Meanwhile, until H-1 of election, not every voters invitation received. Sumarno assessed, it happened due to problems on the field when spreading invitation.

While for logistics, has simultaneously spreading to every Polling Stations (TPS). Every logistics was put inside mailbox then closed, padlocked, and sealed by seen with every polling committee (PPS), committee of sub district election (PPK) and group of voting committee (KPPS).

The logistic distributed earlier exclusive for Thousands Island, because of calculating factor of geographical and weather. Logistics were directly placed in each Polling Station. There are more than 17 thousand polling stations in Jakarta, with 7,001,520 Final Voters List (DPT).
